A prominent medical facility in Spokane, WA is seeking a locum tenens thoracic surgery physician for comprehensive surgical care, focusing on inpatient and outpatient procedures. This role offers a dynamic schedule, including 10-14 days per month, weekend call duties, and clinic coverage one day per week, enabling you to work closely with an adult patient population while utilizing advanced surgical techniques.

  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM, plus weeknight (5:00 PM – 7:00 AM) and weekend call (Friday 7:00 AM – Monday 7:00 AM)
  • Patient Population: Adult
  • Location: Spokane, WA

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform thoracic and cardiothoracic surgeries, including but not limited to, minimal invasive mitral procedures, aortic valve conservation, and aortic root remodeling.
  • Manage cardiac/thoracic endoscopic operations, coronary artery bypass surgeries on and off pump, and TAVR.
  • Conduct valvular, aneurysm, and vascular repairs as required.
  • Provide night and weekend call coverage as per departmental requirements.

Qualifications

  • Board Certified in Thoracic Surgery
  • Fellowship-trained with clean practice history for expedited credentialing
  • Hold or eligible for a medical license in Washington State

Working Hours

  • Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Weeknight Call: 5:00 PM – 7:00 AM
  • Weekend Call: Friday 7:00 AM through Monday 7:00 AM

Skills

  • Expertise in general cardiothoracic and vascular surgery techniques.
  • Proficiency in using endoscopic methods and managing complex surgical cases.
  • Skilled in inserting advanced cardiac monitoring devices and managing vol/BP issues.
  • Strong decision-making abilities and adept in emergency and critical care scenarios.
