Job Responsibilities
- Maintain adequate drug supply and oversee the procurement and inventory processes.
- Prepare, dispense, and document all medications, ensuring compliance with federal and state pharmacy laws.
- Provide clinical consultation and patient counseling on medication use.
- Conduct inspections of pharmacy and patient care areas, ensuring cleanliness and proper storage of medications.
- Participate in the development of the hospital’s formulary and quality assurance programs.
- Monitor patient drug therapies and adjust as necessary for safety and effectiveness.
Qualifications
- Successful completion of state-mandated educational requirements for licensure.
- Current state licensure required.
- BLS certification if required by state.
- Minimum of two years of recent hospital experience.
- EPIC experience.
Working Hours
- Day shifts: Monday–Sunday, 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM
- Every other weekend required
Skills
- Strong clinical knowledge in antimicrobial stewardship and pharmacokinetic dosing management.
- Proficient in medication reconciliation and discharge counseling.
- Effective communication skills for patient, family, and pharmacy interactions.
- Ability to interpret culture results and provide informed recommendations.
- Experience in anticoagulation dosing management and monitoring.
