Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner to support a high-acuity cardiac surgery service in a dynamic, fast-paced surgical environment. This locum tenens opportunity offers flexible scheduling and the chance to work alongside a skilled surgical team.

Key Details:

• Pay Rate: $135/hour
• Assignment Type: Locum Tenens
• Duration: 13 weeks with the possibility of extension
• Schedule: 12-hour day or night shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM), minimum 8–10 shifts/month
• Setting: Level 1 Trauma Center
• Start Date: August 25, 2025
• Support Available: Lodging and transportation assistance (excluding airfare)

Job Responsibilities:

• First assist in cardiac operating room procedures, including:
  • Aortic valve replacements, TAVRs, LVAD placements, ECMO
  • Heart transplants (frequent)
• Endoscopic vein harvesting (Hemopro and Maquet systems required)
• Collaborate with surgeons and surgical teams to deliver optimal patient outcomes

Qualifications:

• Licensed Nurse Practitioner with SFA certification
• Active BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• 3–5 years of cardiac surgery experience required
• Experience with heart transplants and high-acuity cardiac procedures
• EPIC EMR experience preferred
• Must be licensed in Tennessee or willing to apply

Working Hours:

• 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM (12-hour shifts)
• Flexible schedule including weekdays and weekends
• Call optional
