Job Responsibilities

  • Perform complex thoracic and cardiovascular surgeries, including coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), valve replacements/repairs, and vascular surgeries.
  • Manage patient care in CVICU, ICU, and Cardiac Step-down unit settings.
  • Conduct evaluations and develop management plans for acute volume/BP issues.
  • Insert and manage central lines, arterial lines, PA catheters, and IABP.

Qualifications

  • Completed fellowship in Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery.
  • Board Certification required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
  • Experience with both open and endoscopic procedures preferred.

Working Hours

  • Daily shifts with a primary focus on daytime hours.
  • Required to manage approximately 10 patient encounters per shift.

Skills

  • Proficiency in general CV/thoracic surgery, coronary artery bypass surgery (on and off pump), congenital defect repairs, and complex aneurysm repairs.
  • Skilled in thoracic procedures such as lung resections, esophagus and diaphragm surgeries.
  • Experience with TAVR and permanent pacemaker placement preferred.
  • Strong skills in vascular procedures, including endarterectomy and bypass procedures.
