Job Responsibilities
- Provide administrative leadership for daily pharmacy operations
- Identify policy/procedure gaps and collaborate with Pharmacy Operations for resolution
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and accreditation standards
- Implement new services, procedures, and pharmacy automation as required
- Lead departmental Performance Improvement Programs
- Manage pharmacy staff including hiring, training, scheduling, coaching, and performance evaluations
- Develop and maintain technician and pharmacist schedules
- Oversee purchasing and inventory management to ensure safe and cost-effective use of medications
- Accurately verify and dispense medication orders, overseeing technician work
- Monitor and evaluate critical medication management processes
- Participate in quality and performance improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted pharmacist license in Tennessee
- Required minimum of 1 year of hospital pharmacy practice experience
- Experience with hospital pharmacy automated dispensing machines; preferred experience with Omnicell
- Preferred experience with regulatory compliance oversight and a background in audits, policies, and staff oversight
- Independent in at least one institutional electronic medical record and pharmacy information system
Working Hours
- Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- On-call responsibilities for weekends and emergencies
