Job Responsibilities
– Provide cardiac thoracic services and assist in surgical procedures, including CABG EVH, open vessel harvesting, TAVR, TACR, vascular surgery, and ECMO.
– Assist with patient positioning, surgical wound exposure, closure, and dressing application.
– Perform therapeutic procedures such as wound care, venipuncture, chest tube insertion and removal, suturing, and cardiac resuscitation.
– Participate in preoperative and postoperative care of patients.
Qualifications
– Experience with atrial vein harvesting and efficient surgical skills in CVOR and vascular surgery.
– Must be independent with endoscopic and vessel harvesting, including radial.
– BLS certification required.
– Board certification eligible; does not require board certification.
Working Hours
– Varied shifts with call coverage; overtime must be approved by department admin.
Skills
– Proficient in making surgical incisions and closures for endoscopic or open vessel harvesting.
– Ability to assist with invasive procedures as directed by the surgeon.
– Strong communication skills for liaising with the surgical team and postoperative patient care.
