A rewarding opportunity awaits a skilled Neurologist looking to make a meaningful impact in an inpatient setting. This is a locum tenens position offering flexibility, where you will work alongside an NP to manage stroke and general neurology cases. The assignment schedule is adaptable to your availability, with coverage required for about 2-3 weeks per quarter if one provider is assigned, or 1-2 weeks per quarter if shared with another provider.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide inpatient care for stroke and general neurology patients, including rounding on neurology and stroke service
  • Collaborate with an advanced practice provider (APP), who will manage their own caseload
  • Perform patient consults, with an average daily count of 6-8 hospital patients and 4-6 emergency room consults
  • Administer thrombolytic therapy as required

Qualifications

  • Board Certification in Neurology is required
  • Valid Oregon medical license and DEA registration needed
  • Quick turnaround on application for privileging is necessary
  • Non-invasive procedures related to neurology experience preferred

Working Hours

  • Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Approximately 2-3 weeks coverage per quarter for one provider or 1-2 weeks if shared

Skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Efficient in handling multiple patient encounters
  • Proficient in performing and interpreting radiologic exams, although these are unofficial
  • Ability to administer thrombolytic therapy effectively
