This locum tenens position requires dedicated professionals to cover gaps in call coverage for specified dates. The role involves 24-hour call shifts with an average of one case per day, supported by a team of three physician assistants and utilizing the EPIC EMR system.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide cardiothoracic surgical care including coronary artery bypass surgery, arterial revascularization, and heart valve repair/replacement.
  • Perform procedures such as coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) and mitral valve repair.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation using the EPIC system.
  • Collaborate with ancillary staff and physician assistants to deliver optimal patient care.

Qualifications

  • Board Certified in Cardiac Surgery
  • Active Ohio Medical License
  • Fellowship Training in Cardiac Surgery
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Proficiency in all required cardiac surgical procedures
  • Experience with EPIC EMR is preferred
  • Must be available for specified coverage dates

Working Hours

  • 24-hour call shifts
  • Must be available for call coverage on selected dates between July and December
