Summary:

This traveler role involves working as a Physician Assistant in a Walk-In Clinic setting, focusing on primary and family care. The main responsibilities include performing physical exams, diagnosing and treating patients, ordering diagnostic tests, and prescribing or recommending treatments within established protocol guidelines.

Duties:

• Promote positive lifestyle habits to patients through education and counseling.
• Perform minor procedures as necessary (e.g., sutures, ID).
• Complete documentation within 24 hours.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Make follow-up calls to check patient progress.
• Work closely with nurses to ensure efficient patient flow.
• Consult with colleagues regarding patient symptoms for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Procedures:

• Perform sensitive examinations and minor procedures such as ID and sutures.

Support Staff:

• Includes primary care providers, triage nurses, one nurse per provider, and a CNA.

Patient Information:

• Patients per day can vary up to 40, depending on complexity.
• Types of cases include acute illness visits: cough, cold, minor injuries, STD testing, UTI, rashes, etc.

Submission Requirements:

• Board Certified/Board Eligible
• Active ND license or IMLC with LOQ in hand
• BLS and DEA certifications
• Clean malpractice record

Certifications:

• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration

Additional Information:

• The Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system used is Allscripts AEHR.
• Credentialing timeframe is approximately 30 days, with no additional credentialing required for other facilities.
• No on-call duties are involved.
