Join us for an exciting locum tenens opportunity in a prominent inpatient psychiatric unit. This role involves collaborating with a dedicated mental health team, rounding on an average of 8 to 14 patients per day, and providing crucial support in patient care. The assignment offers a flexible schedule tailored around specific coverage dates.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily rounds, splitting patient responsibilities with a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)
  • Manage and sign off on Involuntary Commitment (IVC) paperwork within a 24-hour timeframe
  • Provide psychiatric consultations and support, including managing variances in admissions
  • Work alongside multidisciplinary staff, including RNs, CNAs, and a Physician Marketing Director

Qualifications

  • Active and unrestricted medical license
  • Board Certification in Psychiatry
  • Certifications Required: ACLS, BLS
  • Experience with acute, long-term, and sub-acute psychiatric care
  • Preferably familiar with various psychiatric and treatment techniques (e.g., pharmacotherapy, group therapy)

Working Hours

  • Days: Primarily day shifts

Skills

  • Expertise in managing anxiety, affective, ADD/ADHD, personality, eating, developmental, psychotic, and organic disorders
  • Knowledgeable in involuntary commitments, seclusion therapy, and restraint application
  • Skilled in pharmacotherapy, group therapy, family therapy, and ECT
