Job Responsibilities
- Provide general surgical care to patients, including trauma management when required.
- Perform procedures such as appendectomies, cholecystectomies, chest wall/pleural procedures, and more.
- Conduct 2-4 hours of rounds daily, with remaining hours spent on-call.
- Ensure documentation of patient interactions and call-back hours as per facility requirements.
Qualifications
- Board Certification Eligible, with preference for those having an active state license and clean claims history.
- Required certifications: ACLS
- Experience in both adult and pediatric general surgery is essential.
Working Hours
- On-call schedule: 7:00 AM to 7:00 AM, with rounds and call-back obligations as needed.
Skills
- Proficient in general surgical procedures, including emergency and trauma care.
- Ability to work independently as a solo on-call surgeon with support from hospital staff.
- Strong documentation skills, particularly for patient contact hours.
- Familiarity with the Paragon EMR system is a plus.
