Job Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations to assess vision and detect eye diseases
- Diagnose and treat ocular diseases and disorders, such as glaucoma and cataracts
- Provide prescriptions for eyeglasses and contact lenses based on individual patient needs
- Educate patients about eye health, vision correction options, and preventive care
- Offer pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing eye surgeries
- Maintain accurate patient records, documenting interactions, treatment plans, and outcomes
Qualifications
- Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree from an accredited optometry school
- Valid state license to practice optometry
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical skills to accurately diagnose and treat vision problems
- Ability to provide compassionate care and build rapport with patients of all ages
