Job Responsibilities

  • Provide patient-centered care in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Assess the appropriateness of patient therapy, incorporating age-specific modifications.
  • Participate in and oversee maintaining adequate medication inventory.
  • Develop and update departmental and nursing policies.
  • Conduct clinical research and participate in professional development programs.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of extensive acute care clinical experience required.
  • Doctorate of Pharmacy (Pharm D) required.
  • Completion of ASHP-accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Residency in Oncology strongly preferred.
  • Board Certification Oncology Pharmacist (BCOP) Certification strongly preferred.
  • Must work independently without direct supervision within established policies.
  • Capable of supervising the work of support personnel.
  • Specialty Pharmacy medication management and retail experience required.
  • Active Massachusetts Pharmacy license in good standing.
  • Active American Heart Association BLS certification required.

Working Hours

  • Rotating shifts
  • Holiday rotation required
  • No on-call duties

Skills

  • Proficiency with pharmacy and hospital computer systems, Alaris Smart Pump, and pharmacy automated medication dispensing systems.
  • Experience with vertical and horizontal laminar air flow hoods and ancillary IV room equipment.
  • Familiarity with infusion pumps, Dose Edge, Simplify797, and related ancillary equipment.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work effectively with the multidisciplinary team.
