MercyOne Siouxland is seeking a Locum Anesthesiologist to join their team.
Schedule Details
- Weekdays: Monday – Friday
- 1 MDA is on vacation weekly (except for 2 weeks per year).
- 1 MDA is post-call daily.
- 1 MDA is on call daily.
- 1 MDA is a day shift only.
- 1 MDA is second call daily.
- Weekends (Saturday/Sunday):
- 1 MDA is first call on Saturday and then second call on Sunday.
- 1 MDA is second call on Saturday and then first call on Sunday.
- Other 3 MDAs have the weekend off.
Call Details
- 1st Call: Provider can go home once all cases finish and will return only if a case is added or there's a need for a central line.
- 2nd Call: Provider will usually stay late as backup if a non-cardiac MDA is on first call.
Practice Setting
- Hospital-based in the surgical services department.
- Level 2 trauma center.
- Utilizes Cerner PowerChart EMR.
- Average number of surgical cases per day: 13.
- Requires supervision of CRNAs, who are experienced and work collaboratively with anesthesiologists.
Requirements
- Cardiac experience required.
- Familiarity with a range of procedures, including general surgical cases, nerve blocks, thoracic and vascular cases, and ventilation management.
- Pain management procedures: acute.
- Insertion and management of central lines, arterial lines, and PA catheters.
- Evaluation and management of acute volume/BP issues.
Demographic and Facility Information
- Mostly adult/geriatric patient demographic.
- No complicated adolescent or child procedures.
- 12 operating rooms.
- Annual ER volume: ~25,000.
- Trauma level designation: Level 2.
- Estimated credentialing timeframe: 60 days +/-.
Qualifications
- Board Certified is required.
- Licensing is open to all candidates.
- COVID Vaccine status should be noted at the time of name clearance.
This position requires full-time coverage. The local community is supported with designated trauma care, ensuring a comprehensive emergency service experience.
