Position Details:

Schedule:
– Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
– Weeknight call duty, no weekends.

Responsibilities:
– Inpatient rounds on post-op patients.
– Consulting for inpatient and emergency department cases.
– Surgical and trauma/orthopedic call duties.

Staffing and Support:
– Work alongside 4 physicians and other advanced practice providers.
– Receive nursing support with 1 nurse per provider and 3 cast technicians serving 7 providers.
– Ancillary staff includes 3 receptionists per 7 providers and 2 surgery schedulers.

Facilities and Equipment:
– Access to 2 exam rooms and 3 cast rooms per provider.
– Medical imaging, lab, and pharmacy services available.
– Utilizes GE Centricity for clinic EMR and EPIC for hospital EMR.

Patient and Practice Information:
– Average hospital daily census is approximately 160 patients.
– Appointment lengths range from 10 to 30 minutes.
– Serves as a hub hospital for 16 surrounding counties with a population of over 200,000.

Opportunities:
– Teaching available through internal medicine and family medicine residency programs.
– PA student rotations included.

Credentialing:
– Estimated timeframe for credentialing is 60-90 days.

Practice Procedures:
– Includes total hip, knee, and shoulder replacement.
– Handles hand, wrist, knee, shoulder, hip, ankle, and foot surgeries.
– Manages trauma injuries, fracture care, sports medicine, and various other disorders.

Requirements for Submission:
– Board Certified or Board Eligible.
– Clean malpractice history.
– Active Iowa License or Active Compact/IMLC LOQ.
– Updated CV at the time of name clearance.
