Role Overview
We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) for a surgical role. The position involves working closely with a general surgical team in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Schedule
- Shifts per Month: 14 shifts over a 28-day period
- Shift Length: 24 hours (12 hours on-site, 12 hours on-call)
Responsibilities
- Inpatient responsibilities include rounding on post-operative patients, inpatient/ED consultations, OR participation, and clinic follow-ups.
- Supervision of Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) is expected.
- Support provided includes 1 clinical staff per physician and 2 ancillary staff.
Facilities and Support
- Medical imaging and lab pharmacy services available.
- 2 exam rooms and 2 procedure rooms per provider.
- Teaching opportunities available within the IM and FM residency programs.
Practice Services and Procedures
- Clinic consultations and follow-up procedures.
- A wide range of surgical procedures, including laparoscopic, open, and robotic surgeries, as well as endoscopy services.
- Trauma call coverage and general surgery consultations.
Environment and Demographics
- Hub hospital serving 16 surrounding counties with a population of over 200,000.
- EMR system: EPIC
Required Qualifications
- Board Certified
- Active IA License or Active Compact License required.
