Join a dynamic team providing comprehensive Hematology Oncology care in a highly supportive outpatient setting in Des Moines, IA. This locum tenens assignment offers a flexible schedule with a two-week on, two-week off rotation including night call responsibilities. You will be an integral part of a medical center environment, delivering inpatient and telehealth services, supported by excellent imaging, lab, and pharmacy services.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide medical hematology/oncology coverage with both outpatient and inpatient responsibilities.
  • Conduct patient assessments, create and manage treatment plans, and handle chemotherapy management.
  • Collaborate for end-of-life care and referrals for ancillary services.
  • Utilize telehealth for patient interactions as necessary.
  • Document patient interactions and treatment plans in EPIC EMR.

Qualifications

  • Board Certified or Truly Board Eligible in Hematology and Oncology
  • Active IA License or Active IMLC
  • Fellowship Trained in Hematology Oncology
  • Must have experience and a clean malpractice/background
  • Willingness to work at multiple medical centers in Des Moines, IA

Working Hours

  • Clinic Days: 6
  • Clinic Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • On Call: Yes, schedule TBD

Skills

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficiency in EPIC EMR or similar systems
  • Competency in chemotherapy management and patient treatment planning
  • Ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
  • Adaptable to both inpatient and outpatient care settings
