At this distinguished healthcare facility, you'll engage in a variety of responsibilities including first assist in the OR, patient assessments, and care plan development. You'll work flexible night shifts, typically from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM, accommodating occasional day and weekend shifts as needed.

Job Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and assess patient illness/injuries
  • Perform physical and special examinations
  • Take medical histories and develop care plans
  • Intervene in crises and provide routine care
  • Order and evaluate diagnostic tests and medications
  • Coordinate patient follow-ups and referrals
  • Maintain patient health information records
  • Assist with surgeries as first assist
  • Participate in policy development, clinical research, and teaching activities

Qualifications

  • Board Certified NCCPA
  • Valid CT license, DEA/CSR
  • BLS, ACLS certification
  • 2+ years of orthopedic experience
  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Experience as a first assist in the OR

Working Hours

  • Typical shifts are from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM
  • Scheduling flexibility required for occasional day and weekend shifts

Skills

  • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
  • Proficient in healthcare record-keeping and EMR, specifically EPIC
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
  • Excellent communication and patient counseling skills
