Job Responsibilities
- Coverage of the obstetric service during evenings, nights, and weekends
- Supervision and teaching of in-house OB/GYN residents
- Management of laboring patients, obstetrical triage, postpartum patients, and gynecologic emergencies
- Performance of obstetrical and gynecologic procedures as clinically indicated
- Participation in emergency cesarean deliveries and urgent gynecologic surgical care
- Collaboration with nursing staff, anesthesia, neonatology, Maternal-Fetal Medicine, and subspecialty consultants
- Teaching and precepting residents, fellows, and medical students
Qualifications
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology by ABOG
- Eligible for or currently holding a Connecticut Medical License
- Experience supervising residents and managing high-acuity obstetrical patients preferred
- Strong communication and team-based care skills required
Working Hours
- Night shifts from Monday to Thursday, with potential weekend coverage
- Approximately 5–10 shifts per month
