Job Responsibilities
- Cover obstetric services during evenings, nights, and weekends
- Supervise and teach in-house OB/GYN residents
- Manage laboring patients, obstetrical triage, postpartum patients, and gynecologic emergencies
- Perform obstetrical and gynecologic procedures as needed
- Participate in emergency cesarean deliveries and urgent gynecologic surgical care
- Collaborate with nursing staff, anesthesia, neonatology, and various subspeciality consultants
- Potential academic responsibilities include teaching, precepting, and participation in quality improvement or educational activities
Qualifications
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology by ABOG
- Eligible for or currently holding a Connecticut Medical License
- Experience supervising residents and managing high-acuity obstetrical patients preferred
- Strong communication and team-based care skills required
Working Hours
- Primarily overnight shifts, Monday–Thursday, with possible weekend coverage
- Preferred shift model: 12-hour night shifts; alternative 24-hour shifts may be available
