Job Responsibilities

  • Cover obstetric services during evenings, nights, and weekends
  • Supervise and teach in-house OB/GYN residents
  • Manage laboring patients, obstetrical triage, postpartum patients, and gynecologic emergencies
  • Perform obstetrical and gynecologic procedures as needed
  • Participate in emergency cesarean deliveries and urgent gynecologic surgical care
  • Collaborate with nursing staff, anesthesia, neonatology, and various subspeciality consultants
  • Potential academic responsibilities include teaching, precepting, and participation in quality improvement or educational activities

Qualifications

  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology by ABOG
  • Eligible for or currently holding a Connecticut Medical License
  • Experience supervising residents and managing high-acuity obstetrical patients preferred
  • Strong communication and team-based care skills required

Working Hours

  • Primarily overnight shifts, Monday–Thursday, with possible weekend coverage
  • Preferred shift model: 12-hour night shifts; alternative 24-hour shifts may be available
