Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive health care services.
  • Perform initial assessments and continuous medical care.
  • Work independently within an interdisciplinary health care team.
  • Take medical histories, examine patients, and order/interpret tests.
  • Formulate diagnoses and treatment plans, prescribe medications, and adjust treatments.
  • Document patient interaction and inform attending physicians of significant issues.
  • Order referrals to specialists and respond to emergencies.
  • Counsel patients on preventive care and health issues.
  • Attend in-service training and educate health care staff.
  • Engage in practice building and community outreach.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Valid license to practice as a Physician Assistant in the State of Connecticut.
  • Connecticut Controlled Substance Registration and DEA license required.
  • NCCPA certification and BLS Certification by the American Heart Association.
  • One year of experience in endocrinology preferred.

Working Hours

  • Monday–Friday, varied eight-hour shifts as per department needs.
