Job Responsibilities
- Conduct diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive health care services.
- Perform initial assessments and continuous medical care.
- Work independently within an interdisciplinary health care team.
- Take medical histories, examine patients, and order/interpret tests.
- Formulate diagnoses and treatment plans, prescribe medications, and adjust treatments.
- Document patient interaction and inform attending physicians of significant issues.
- Order referrals to specialists and respond to emergencies.
- Counsel patients on preventive care and health issues.
- Attend in-service training and educate health care staff.
- Engage in practice building and community outreach.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Valid license to practice as a Physician Assistant in the State of Connecticut.
- Connecticut Controlled Substance Registration and DEA license required.
- NCCPA certification and BLS Certification by the American Heart Association.
- One year of experience in endocrinology preferred.
