A dynamic opportunity awaits you in an inpatient setting, providing locum tenens coverage as an OB/GYN hospitalist in Santa Cruz, CA. This role primarily involves hospital call responsibilities with a focus on assisting low-risk obstetrical patients and collaborating with a Level III NICU. Bilingual providers are highly preferred to enhance communication with the diverse patient population. The position includes 24-hour in-house calls, approximately 6-8 times per month. Job Responsibilities

  • Provide obstetrical care and perform deliveries including C-sections
  • Monitor labor progress and manage pitocin-assisted labors
  • Assist with urgent OB/GYN cases during call shifts
  • Collaborate with a team of perinatologists and neonatologists

Qualifications

  • Board Certified in OB/GYN (or truly Board Eligible)
  • California state medical license
  • Recent laborist experience required
  • DEA, BLS, ACLS certifications
  • Clean malpractice record
  • A completed Self-Query NPDB report dated within 30 days of presentation

Working Hours

  • 24-hour in-house shifts from 7:30 AM to 7:30 AM
  • 6–8 shifts per month, including weekends

Skills

  • Proficient in managing both vaginal and cesarean deliveries
  • Skilled in handling urgent OB/GYN surgical cases
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-paced hospital environment
  • Bilingual ability is preferred to foster communication with diverse patient demographics
