Job Responsibilities
- Ensure the safe distribution of pharmaceutical agents to patients, employees, and designated areas.
- Collaborate with physicians regarding drug selection and dosing.
- Educate nursing staff, patients, and fellow healthcare providers about medications.
- Participate in Medication Safety initiatives and manage narcotic accountability.
- Oversee the preparation of IV admixtures and nutritional supplements.
Qualifications
- Valid AZ Pharmacist License
- ACLS and BLS certifications required
- Minimum of 2 years of inpatient acute hospital experience
- Board Certification and/or accredited pharmacy residency preferred
Working Hours
- Night shifts, 7 nights on followed by 7 nights off: 8:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Required to work holidays as per the facility's schedule
Skills
- Experience with Cerner EMR
- Proficient in sterile compounding
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities
- Strong operational and management skills for ongoing quality improvement
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a diverse population
