Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain adequate drug supply, ensuring timely procurement and inventory control.
  • Prepare, sterilize, and label parenteral medications.
  • Dispense medications according to protocol and ensure accountability.
  • Conduct monthly inspections of medication storage and usage areas.
  • Monitor patient drug therapy, focusing on drug interactions and effectiveness.
  • Participate in developing and updating hospital formularies.
  • Instruct patients on medication use post-discharge.
  • Support education and training programs for pharmacy staff.

Qualifications

  • Successful completion of educational requirements for state licensure.
  • Current State licensure.
  • EPIC experience required.
  • BLS required if mandated by the state.

Working Hours

  • Four 10-hour shifts: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, from 9:30 AM to 8:00 PM.

Skills

  • Medication reconciliation and discharge counseling.
  • Clinical expertise in antimicrobial stewardship and pharmacokinetic dosing.
  • Strong communication abilities for patient and family interactions.
  • Knowledge in anticoagulation dosing management and drug-drug interaction monitoring.
