Job Responsibilities
– Provide first assist coverage for cardiac surgery procedures, including CABG, valve repair and replacement, and ascending aortic surgeries.
– Support the cardiac surgery clinic and participate in call rotations.
– Conduct procedures such as endoscopic vein harvesting, sternotomy opening and closure, and temporary pacing wire placement.
Qualifications
– Board Certification required.
– MO state license.
– BLS certification required; RNFA preferred for NPs.
– Minimum 2 years of independent adult cardiac surgery OR first assist experience.
Working Hours
– Regular shifts from 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM.
– Call duty: One night per week (6:00 PM – 6:00 AM) and rotating weekends (6:00 AM – 6:00 AM).
Skills
– Proficiency in Epic EMR/Charting Software.
– Experience with procedures like mechanical circulatory support and endoscopic vein harvesting using the Maquet EVH System.
– Strong capability in managing complex cardiac surgery cases and emergent situations.
