Job Description
This position operates within a healthcare facility's pharmacy department, aiming to ensure safe, effective, and cost-efficient drug therapy. Job Responsibilities
– Review prescriptions for appropriateness and resolve any concerns with prescribers.
– Verify finished prescription orders and maintain required documentation.
– Provide clear and accurate medication counseling to patients.
– Conduct chart reviews for prescription refills and medication management.
– Direct pharmacy support personnel and provide education for pharmacy students and technicians.
– Participate in quality control and improvement activities.

Qualifications
– Pharm.D. degree; candidates with a Bachelor of Pharmacy and 3 years of relevant experience considered.
– Unrestricted Alaska pharmacist license.
– Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification.
– Pharmacy residency program completion is preferred.

Working Hours
– Monday through Friday, day shifts.

– Proficiency in reviewing patient medical history, labs, and medication orders.
– Knowledge of state and federal pharmacy laws.
– Effective communication skills for patient and staff interactions.
– Computer application and math skills for dosage calculations.
– Ability to work independently and adapt to changing workloads.
