Job Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense medications in accordance with DEA laws, state/federal regulations, and hospital policies.
- Collaborate with physicians on drug selection and dosing.
- Educate nursing staff, patients, and physicians about medications and safety initiatives.
- Prepare and mix IV admixtures and nutritional supplements.
- Maintain narcotic accountability and manage patient profiles.
- Report and avoid adverse drug reactions to enhance patient safety.
Qualifications
- Valid Arizona Pharmacist License
- ACLS and BLS certifications
- Minimum of 2 years' recent hospital pharmacist experience
- Sterile compounding experience
- Board Certified and/or accredited pharmacy residency preferred, but not required
Working Hours
- 7 Nights On / 7 Nights Off: 8:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Skills
- Ability to work independently in high-pressure environments
- Proficiency with EMR systems, particularly Cerner
- Strong operational and people management skills
- Experience in patient satisfaction and quality improvement initiatives
- Comfortable with irregular hours and frequent interruptions
