  • Start Date: Orientation on-site required day prior; coverage begins 8/18/26
  • Schedule: 24-hour call shifts with specific upcoming dates: 8/18–8/25, 11/26–11/30, 12/18–12/24; Orientation on 8/17/26
  • Patient Population: Adult
  • Location: Hancock, MI
  • Stipends: Facility lodging preferred if available; housing and travel options can be discussed for non-local candidates

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide call coverage, responding to consult requests from the Emergency Department.
  • Perform orthopedic surgeries, focusing on fractures, sports injuries, and total joint replacement (hip and knee).
  • Engage in a variety of orthopedic cases with no requirement for spine or advanced trauma.
  • Work within a digital radiology environment and coordinate with Orthopaedic PAs and surgical staff.

Qualifications

  • Must hold an active board certification with the ABOS.
  • Active Michigan state license, MI CDS, and MI DEA.
  • Required skills in arthroscopy, total joint replacement, and joint revision or repair.

Working Hours

  • On-call 7:00 AM – 7:00 AM during scheduled dates; presence required as per Emergency Department requests.
  • Orientation the day before shift commencement.

Skills

  • Proficient in total joint replacements and joint repair including hip, knee, and shoulder.
  • Flexibility and efficiency in operating room management.
  • Experience with a wide array of orthopedic procedures excluding spinal surgery.
