Join a dynamic team at a non-named health center located in Santa Monica, CA, as a Surgical Physician Assistant specializing in Cardiothoracic Surgery. This role offers the opportunity to work in both clinical and hospital settings, providing comprehensive patient care through OR assistance, patient rounding, and clinic responsibilities all within the same day. The position includes participating in a shared call rotation that ensures diverse and engaging workdays.

Job Responsibilities
– Assist in surgeries and provide support in clinics within the hospital setting.
– Perform radial and endoscopic vein harvesting.
– Interpret EKGs, X-rays, labs, and manage ECMO, IABP, and Impella.
– Manage patients in ICU/step-down units.
– Participate in a shared call schedule and ensure high standards of care during call-back scenarios.

Qualifications
– Must be a licensed Physician Assistant in California with an active CA DEA.
– Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant experience preferred.
– Required certifications include ACLS and BLS.
– Strong skills in surgical procedures and critical patient management required.
– Board Certification is necessary.

Working Hours
– Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM (8-hour shifts)
– Call rotations: weekdays 3:00 PM – 7:00 AM, weekends 3:00 PM Friday – 7:00 AM Monday

Skills
– Proficiency in surgical assisting, including vein harvesting and interpretation of various cardiovascular diagnostics.
– Strong patient management skills, especially in critical care settings.
– Effective communication and teamwork capabilities within a multidisciplinary team.
– Ability to adapt quickly in fast-paced medical environments.
