Job Responsibilities

  • Assist and manage patients undergoing cardiothoracic surgical procedures including coronary artery bypass and valvular surgery.
  • Evaluate and manage acute care issues and maintain involvement in ICU settings.
  • Support surgical operations and post-operative management in collaboration with physicians and support staff.

Qualifications

  • Certified Physician Assistant
  • Experience in cardiothoracic surgery, both in the operating room and acute care settings
  • WA license preferred, but candidates willing to obtain licensure are considered
  • Clean malpractice and background history highly preferred

Working Hours

  • Monday through Friday with on-call responsibilities
  • Nights and weekends on-call as required

Skills

  • Proficiency in general CV/thoracic surgery procedures
  • Competence in managing ventilation and acute volume/BP issues
  • Capability to insert central lines and support surgeries like aneurysm repairs and lung resections

This role is critical in continuing the high standard of care required in the cardiothoracic department, and your expertise will help fill an essential gap following the retirement of the current provider.
