Job Responsibilities
- Prepare, dispense, and control medications in accordance with professional and federal standards.
- Maintain an understanding of product advances and pharmaceutical developments.
- Assign tasks to and monitor supportive personnel.
- Review medication orders for completeness and appropriateness, ensuring proper labeling and storage.
- Provide information on medications to medical and nursing staff and ensure controls on medication supplies.
- Perform compounding of pharmaceuticals as required, including intravenous admixtures.
- Deliver medication order-entry and clinical information services, especially during evening/night shifts.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited pharmacy program.
- Currently licensed to practice in Massachusetts.
- Ability to practice hospital pharmacy at current standards.
- Skill in operating required equipment.
