Job Responsibilities
- Distribute pharmaceutical agents safely and accurately to designated hospital areas
- Collaborate with physicians on drug management and dosing
- Educate nursing staff, patients, and physicians about medications
- Lead medication safety initiatives and manage patient profiles
- Mix IV admixtures and nutritional supplements
- Ensure narcotic accountability and report adverse drug reactions
Qualifications
- ACLS & BLS certification
- Arizona Pharmacist License
- Inpatient acute hospital experience required
- 2 years of experience; Board Certification or accredited pharmacy residency preferred
Working Hours
- Varied Shifts: 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM or 10:00 AM – 8:30 PM
- No on-call requirements
- No option for 48-hour guarantee or blocked scheduling
Skills
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Proficient in patient education and medication safety
- Experience with IV admixture and narcotic management
- Familiarity with EMR systems, specifically Cerner
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-paced hospital environment
