Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain adequate drug supply and oversee the procurement and inventory processes.
  • Prepare, dispense, and document all medications, ensuring compliance with federal and state pharmacy laws.
  • Provide clinical consultation and patient counseling on medication use.
  • Conduct inspections of pharmacy and patient care areas, ensuring cleanliness and proper storage of medications.
  • Participate in the development of the hospital’s formulary and quality assurance programs.
  • Monitor patient drug therapies and adjust as necessary for safety and effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • Successful completion of state-mandated educational requirements for licensure.
  • Current state licensure required.
  • BLS certification if required by state.
  • Minimum of two years of recent hospital experience.
  • EPIC experience.

Working Hours

  • Day shifts: Monday–Sunday, 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM
  • Every other weekend required

Skills

  • Strong clinical knowledge in antimicrobial stewardship and pharmacokinetic dosing management.
  • Proficient in medication reconciliation and discharge counseling.
  • Effective communication skills for patient, family, and pharmacy interactions.
  • Ability to interpret culture results and provide informed recommendations.
  • Experience in anticoagulation dosing management and monitoring.
