Job Responsibilities
- Provide patient-centered care within a multidisciplinary oncology team.
- Assess patient therapy for appropriate dosing and prevent adverse drug events.
- Conduct clinical research and professional development programs.
- Serve as a liaison providing operational support and educational services.
- Supervise Pharmacy technicians and maintain medication inventory.
- Develop and update departmental policies in collaboration with the oncology team.
Qualifications
- Doctoral of Pharmacy (Pharm D) required.
- Board Certification Oncology Pharmacist (BCOP) preferred.
- Completion of an ASHP accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Residency in Oncology strongly preferred.
- Minimum 5+ years extensive acute care clinical experience.
- Experience in specialty pharmacy medication management.
- Ability to mix compounds and supervise support personnel effectively.
Working Hours
- Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- No weekends or holiday coverage unless required.
Skills
- Proficiency with pharmacy and hospital computer systems.
- Experience using Alaris Smart Pump and automated medication dispensing systems.
- Knowledge of the preparation of intravenous admixtures, chemotherapy, and sterile products.
- Familiarity with ancillary IV room equipment and common pharmacy tools.
- Strong independent working capability and supervisory skills.
