Responsibilities

• Primary responsibility includes covering ER call and unattached needs at the hospital.
• Providers will cover patients in the clinic for services provided in the hospital.

Required Certifications

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS): Yes
• Basic Life Support (BLS): Yes

Qualifications

• Board Eligibility (BE) is acceptable for temporary privileges.
• Must meet a minimum board certification eligibility requirement.
• Estimated credentialing timeframe is 30 days.

Specialty Skills

• General Surgery: Required

• Pediatric: Preferred
• Neonate: Preferred
• Trauma: Preferred
• Laparoscopic Surgery: Required
• Appendectomy: Required
• Cholecystectomy: Required
• Hernioplasty: Preferred
• Nissen Fundoplication: Preferred
• Other surgical specialties like head/neck, chest wall, breast, obstetric & gynecologic surgeries have preferred or required status.

Procedures

• Ventilation management, chest tube insertion, and central line insertion are preferred skills.
• Vascular access devices and AV shunt procedures are preferred.
• Required proficiency in GI endoscopy, both upper and lower, including sigmoidoscopy and colonoscopy.

Additional Information

• Patient encounters per shift range from 5-10.
• The facility does not allow bids from providers with IMLC.
• Nearest airports are located in Nashville, TN, and Huntsville, AL.
