Job Description:
We are actively seeking Board-Certified Anatomic and Clinical Pathologists (AP/CP) for a fast-moving locum opportunity at a high-volume acute care hospital in Texas. This position involves both on-site work and weekday/weekend call, providing comprehensive pathology services across a broad case mix.
Key Details:
- Pay Rate: $215/hour
- Assignment Type: Locum Tenens
- Start Date: August 18, 2025
- Contract Length: 26 weeks (ongoing)
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM onsite
- Call:
- Weeknights: Monday–Friday, 5:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Weekends: 24-hour call
- Holiday Pay: 1.5x for major holidays
- Credentialing: Expedited, 30–45 days
- Guaranteed Daily Rate Covers: On-site hours + weeknight call
- Licensing: Must have active TX license (IMLC accepted)

Job Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and interpret a wide range of surgical pathology cases: breast, GI, GU, GYN, derm, lung, prostate, thyroid, frozen sections, FNAs, and more
- Participate in on-call responsibilities (must be within 30 minutes of facility)
- Collaborate with a team of 3 pathologists, managing 45–55 cases daily (shared)
- Use Cerner Fusion EMR for documentation
- Consult sub-specialty pathologists as needed
Qualifications:
- Board Certified in AP/CP
- Active Texas medical license (or IMLC eligible)
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a high-volume hospital pathology setting
- Strong diagnostic skills across broad case types
- Comfortable managing call coverage
Working Hours:
- Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM
- Weeknight and weekend call required
Skills Needed:
- Surgical pathology (high-volume, fast-paced)
- Strong communication and collaborative team approach
- Proficiency in EMR (Cerner preferred)
