Requirements:
– Must be Board Certified/Board Eligible
– Must complete Psychiatry residency — fellowship in geriatric psychiatry preferred
Hospital:
– Inpatient unit = 29 beds
– Call schedule: 1-2 days per week. 3 days on occasion
*Possible weekend call needed
On call weekdays by phone from 5 pm until 8 am the following morning. On call weekends round on psychiatric units, and see new consultations in the ED and med/surg on Saturday and Sunday.
– Avg Patient Encounters while on call: Varies
– Avg Called in while on call: Varies, about 2-4 admissions, plus calls for behavioral issues, PRN medications, non-routine incidents on the unit
– Response time: 30 minutes
– Midlevels assist with new evals and summaries
– EMR: Epic
– Department/Units Rounding: Adult, DEM, consults
